High School Faith Formation

The high school years are a time of growth, discovery, and important life decisions. During these years, young people need more than information about the Catholic faith; they need opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ, build meaningful relationships, ask questions, and discover how God is calling them to live as disciples.

At Sheboygan South Catholic Parishes, our High School Faith Formation program helps teens deepen their relationship with Christ, strengthen their understanding of the Catholic faith, and prepare to live as active members of the Church. Together with parents, we accompany young people as they continue their lifelong journey of faith.

To prepare students for the Sacrament of Confirmation, typically celebrated during their junior year, and to support their ongoing faith development, Sheboygan South Catholic Parishes offers a three-year High School Faith Formation program.

Sundays: 8:15 AM–10:45 AM
Location: Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and Faith Formation Center

Students in grades 9, 10, and 11 gather throughout the school year for faith-filled sessions that include prayer, community building, discussion, and catechesis. Each gathering is designed to help teens better understand their Catholic faith and apply it to daily life.

• Small group discussions and faith sharing
• Catholic teaching and catechesis
• Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
• Community building and fellowship
• Service opportunities
• Leadership development
• Opportunities to grow as missionary disciples

In addition to our regular sessions, students participate in:

• Overnight Confirmation Retreat
• Confirmation Candidate and Sponsor Formation Sessions
• Parent and Student Formation Sessions
• Service Projects
• Community Events

Throughout the year, students are encouraged to participate in parish life through activities such as:

• Advent celebrations
• Pancake Breakfast hosted by High School Faith Formation students
• Baccalaureate Mass for graduating seniors
• End-of-Year Celebration

These experiences help students build friendships, grow in faith, and become active participants in the life of the parish community.

Confirmation is not the end of faith formation but an important step in a lifelong relationship with Christ and His Church. Our program helps students prepare spiritually, intellectually, and personally to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and embrace their call to Christian discipleship.
